To be honest i think nintendo is kind of dreading releasing pokemon bank with the free trial because they might be anticipating people to just download pokemon bank/transporter and only use it through the duration of the trial and then never use it again, therefore rendering their efforts in upgrading servers naught. I swear though, nintendo still needs to release some update on the situation, I pray that tomorrow will be the day when they finally say something, it's been about a week since they stated they'd release some info as soon as possible.

I could make a team made entirely of non-bank mon, but with Pokebank possibly being released any day now, I'm not sure if I want to go through all the trouble of breeding when I have a load of Pokemon waiting to be transported that are good to go.

I can understand having technical problems, I don't really blame Nintendo. Things like this happen and you simply can't always deliver things when you promise them.

But I do question their initial release date in the first place. They specified December 27th a LONG time ago, meaning they were pretty confident they'd have the infrastructure ready by then. Could they not have pushed in 2 or maybe 3 weeks earlier, so that it wouldn't have happened two days after Christmas, which is when every single company has problems with too many people using their services?

Regardless, I don't blame them, but I'm disappointed. I was looking forward to using my older Pokes over my holiday from Uni for a good three months, but it's looking less and less like Bank will actually be available before it's over.

That must be why they orchestrated a simultaneous worldwide release and have plans to launch Bank worldwide as well. Their botched launch of Bank which resulted in only a handful of folks in their home country having Bank is purely due to xenophobia--so says the guy who's apparently rooting for the demise of another country (because they don't appreciate his Pokemon fandom enough).

The sad part of this is that some people are completing their Pokedexes already without Bank. If, of course, Bank was released on the 27th, that wouldn't have happened, but it is.
I'm up to 520-something myself, and this is without the Bankmons I own evolved or any Legendaries. By the time Bank comes out, I doubt I'll barely need it aside from bro transfer, and that's a very disappointing statement when it reflects a company I've supported for years since I was born.

This really isn't the catastrophe you're painting it as. It's a delay in a minor piece of companion software. The Lumiose save glitch was arguably worse, since it impacted the central hub of their true bread and butter--the main franchise games. They weathered that just fine.

If it works as well as it should given this is Nintendo's biggest fucking cash cow these days and they can afford to make it not suck I will likely be keeping it. $5 a year is really pretty cheap. To be honest Wifi is not that great. I started Rated and a few quick wins got me to the 1550s, then every.single.battle was up against a full team of shiny, pentaperfect legendaries. I basically just NOPE'd right out of there and never regretted my decision since.

Free battles, on the other hand, will always be full of kids who don't have a clue how to use their cookie-cutter sets. No challenge but still preferable to losing my mind playing Rated.

Most of them (and "millions" is a gross overstatement, btw) are merely braying with little thought and no intention behind it; some are doing it as a form of parody. This is the case everywhere. Thousands of people "hate" Diablo 3 and deride it every time Blizzard posts something about it (or even not about it), yet despite their animosity they're still loyally following them.

People whine because it's easy. You don't see too many people posting "great job, I'm perfectly content" when they're happy with something, but they'll whine incessantly about the slightest thing that bothers them. Positing Facebook posts as evidence of anything meaningful is like positing the same of a 4chan post.

The whole thing with the bank has just reminded me why I was pissed off with Nintendo in the first place.
I bought a 3DS on release, and it was great to begin with but no games were coming out, and during the build up they were promising that flipnote would be on the 3DS at launch.
I never had a DSi, but always wanted flipnote. Decided to wait until the 3DS to get it.

Obviously flipnote didn't come out, and they kept stringing people along with the promise of it for a year and went silent, so I ended up selling my 3DS.
Then X and Y come out, and I decided its time to go back to it, there were other games worth getting too. And then the announcemnt that flipnote was coming out with a new service for 3DS! Awesome.

It came out in Japan, so many users the servers crashed. "Delayed" everywhere else. Problem resolved in Japan, app comes out.
Nintendo mark the EU/ US date as TBD and don't do a fucking thing with it. No updates months later.

I seriously hope the bank doesn't end up being the next flipnote. I know its only been a week but still, nintendo have a habit of sticking their thumbs up there asses and switching their brains into neutral mode when it comes to anything not in Japan.

Doesn't help that when googling for the latest news on the bank that different news outlets are just copying exactly what others have said days ago, but giving misleading titles that end half way through like "Fans waiting for pokemon bank will have to wait until-" ending in "nintendo give a release date".

Now I've moved on. I got my cyndaquil and elgyem and i've transferred my important pokes from y to x. I'm now restarting my Y game with Cyndaquil, Elgyem and Meditite.

649 national dex here. just a few questions, I caught and bred all my pokemon through legit means, but used an emulator to transfer to my cartridge and traded each one by one to pokemon white. I went through extensive analysis using the legality checker and all my pokemon pass. think I'll still be able to transfer to x and y? this took me years to do and I'm prepared to quit altogether if the majority of my pokemon don't go through.

I know the legality checker isn't official but fuck I'm tinfoil right now.
