>>17131365Unfortunately this is a corporate policy, especially one for japanese companies.
Yes, it is just plain bizarre that they're keeping this info that only concerns NON-japanese players a secret..
But honestly, would you rather receive an update with a 100% certain date and time, or be teased with false info for days or even weeks as the date gets pushed back over and over?
The way I see it, they need to work out several things:
1) Make sure any alterations they needed to be make can be made
2) Coordinate between Nintendo and Game Freak for the "big day"
3) Stress test the FUCK out of the servers ahead of time.
4) Wait for the Japanese downloads to slow down (I have no idea why if they're on different server clusters)
5) Schedule a date where there isn't another big release, so any issues created don't step on the toes of another product.
Non-Japanese players will get it, eventually, just don't expect to hear anything right away and for god's sake don't expect they'll just sneak it into the store.
It won't take a year, and it won't take X months (where X is greater than 2)
The latest I personally anticipate it is February. Why? Because the Japanese PS4 is coming out then, and Nintendo will need to bolster their numbers for the month somehow.
Again, why they would need to do this for something in JAPAN when it involves NON-Japan is beyond me, but I'm just speculating.
We're all just speculating. Cuz we don't know.
