I'm pretty sure this generation has the douchiest trainer dialogue in the history of Pokemon.

It just seems like the Gamefreak crew must have encountered some really rude people when the visited France, and were confused by having to tip everyone.

I've been there once, and while many people were perfectly friendly, there were a few who really lived up to the stereotypes. I caught more than one person being rude almost right to my face, not suspecting that a "stupid American" would actually speak French and know what they were saying.

I haven't been to France myself, but according to a friend of mine, they are extremely polite. For example, they say "excuse me" and such (in French) if you'd happen to bump into them.

Yep. I didn't say too much (while I understand French pretty well, it would kind of defeat my point if they heard my terrible accent and less-than-perfect grammar), but a couple of words and a nasty glare were enough to make them look pretty sheepish.

French are only rude if you look "American" to them. A friend of mine was denied service at a restaurant we went to because he spoke US english. I just spoke Spanish but still was fucked up of them.
I just tell them I am from Spain or Italy. (I speak the languages)

That's no excuse. Whatever reputation we may have and despite the occasional "ugly American" abroad, most Americans who care enough to travel out of the country instead of just to Florida or wherever are probably those who don't deserve such shitty treatment.

And I say that as a resident of one of the U.S.' major tourism centers. I deal with international tourists very frequently. Most of us would never be rude to a visitor just based on their nationality.

I don't know why they chose this kind of dialogue with some trainers for this game, but that someone must've had a field day browsing the foulest bowels of the internet to find good examples.

At the start of battle he says something like "hurr durr, I love my girlfriend, she's all I need, I'm so happy!" and she's like "hurr durr, I guess I'm happy."

Then after the battle he says something along the lines of "no matter, long as i have my girlfriend everything's fine!" and she says "is it bad that i'm not satisfied with what i have?"

Oh and she uses a Vespiquen and he uses a Combee. Game Freak are smart cookies.

Also I kept hoping the painters would do wacky paintings of your Pokemon for a price, which you could frame and put in your house/in houses around the region, or even upload like the photos.
