Does breeding for perfect IVs on a genderless pokemon usually take several hours or am I just REALLY unlucky/dumb?
I've got this Rotom down to 5 perfect IVs and a ditto with 3, slapped a destiny knot on it and it just keeps pumping out failures.

It took me a fucking to get a perfect Rotom. It had 6 Perfect IVs and I just went fucking with it because I was so mad and annoyed. Fuck the RNG man.

On a similar note, how the fuck would I even begin IV-breeding on a genderless Pokemon? Would I start with a random Rotom and a 2IV Ditto, keep going until I get a baby with those two IVs, breed that baby with a new 2IV Ditto that has the 31s in different stats, and repeat until I get a 5IV baby?

Pretty much dumb luck and keep replacing the ditto and rotom. You'd be better off trying to find a 3V or 4V ditto in a safari(preferably in a second game because of OT reasons) before going that insane.

You can try soft-resetting for some manipulation. An egg will hatch with the same RNG no matter how many times you load it, so you can swap mon to get the best result.

For example, Ditto has Hp, Def and Spd for IVs, while the target mon has Atk and SDef. If the breeded egg has Hp, Sdef Spd, this could mean that the Atk stat is inherited from the Ditto side (Hence non-IV). Just reload to before the egg is created and swap a Ditto with Atk.

No, but really, do you need a 6IV Jap Ditto? Ill clone mine and give it to you, I feel your pain... I CAUGHT my own 5IV Pre-bank, and still failed to breed anything worth-while
