Approximately 25 - 35. Some people will be lucky enough to get it in 1 box, and there were a few people who went 70+ boxes.

If you're going for something more specific, like a gender, IV's, or HA, you could be looking at 50-100+ to get the one you want.

Or insanity quests like getting a Shiny Female Combee, you're looking at, well, 500+ boxes I guess haha.

But again, it's all odds. The super lucky can get a perfect shiny in 1 egg, in theory.

Ok, so I accidentally killed Zapdos, so as usual I went to beat the E4 so Zapdos can "return". I did that, but it's still missing on the map.

Do you really only get one shot at the birds this game? It doesn't matter much, I have a Zapdos in a Fast Ball named "Alcatraz" waiting for Bank that I am quite fond of, but it just doesn't seem fair, especially considering that it swoops down on you, not giving you the chance to save infront of it.

I'm just wondering, did anyone else here feel it when they were MMing. about two weeks before i started I was breeding scythers and I couldn't shake the feeling i was going to get one.

Two weeks later I wondertrade and get a 5IV Jap Scyther. Figured, why not. So I try MM for the first time and find one 36 eggs in.

It felt like being at christmas dinner and knowing as soon as you're done eating to get to open a gift. Haven't felt that way since so I've never tried again.

Just hatched my shiny Cyndaquil after a week of hatching eggs. 5IVs, missing in defense but I finally got one! I don't have my phone to take a picture but I will soon. I think I'm going to mm pikachu next unless I can find a better looking shiny.

And I might do, although for the starters I'd rather get them myself. Kind of like the sense of accomplishment more than anything. And even as a double I still quite like him, might use him on my next play through (when bank finally comes out) if my cyndaquil doesn't appear.

Failed to catch it at the Zapdos when I challenged it at the Den.

Usually, legends will respawn when you beat the E4, if you failed to catch it the first time that is, but it hasn't come back.

Also, I just remembered that Xerneus/Yveltal don't respawn either, because you HAVE to catch it. Maybe they just didn't bother add that feature for Zygarde and the bird too.

I know shinies are determined by a shiny value, but I wonder if thats calculated off the PID or not.. if so, I think having destiny knot and everstone on the parents decreases the chances of a shiny.

Only wild shiny: Magnemite in New Mauville, Sapphire
lost after a faggot UP+SELECT+B'd my savefile.

First SR'd shiny: Rayquaza, Sapphire
Second SR'd shiny: Regirock, Sapphire

lost after my sister took my DS to her school and it was stolen

Third SR'd shiny: Cyndaquil, Soul Silver
Was going for it but thought that if either Chikorita or Totodile came up shiny I'd take them.

Its still there, though its on a R4 cart.

Still, lost a lot of weeks (for each one) resetting for many, many things:
-Charmander, Fire Red
-Beldum, Sapphire
-Rayquaza, Emerald*
-Articuno, Fire Red
-Regice, Sapphire
-Registeel, Sapphire
-Lugia, Soul Silver

I do not advise you to ever SR on Emerald unless you are abusing RNG, since the frames are stupid so the shiny will always be found like in 30~35 seconds after game boot, meaning that even if you press everything damn fast, you have to wait a bit before talking to the legendary.

If you're still here, Mega-Pinsir hates dealing with Talonflame and Steel-types, so having a defensive core that can do stuff to them will do wonders: Scarf Magnezone (can't take a flare blitz but can OHKO with T-bolt iirc and will do so because it doesn't care about flare blitzes), Slowbro works well with magnezone, and will deal better with Talonflame than Magnezone if you don't want to run a scarf, and Togekiss is an all-around useful pokemon that can take some stuff Magnezone and Slowbro can't while spreading status/flinching
As a defensive core it isn't as universally effective as Mega-Venusaur/Rotom-Wash/Heatran but it frees up your mega slot and works well with Pinsir
You're going to need a couple wall-breakers on your team unless you take a more offensive route with the three, and even then something that hits too hard like Hydreigon would be good, especially since Hydreigon can easily muscle past Gliscor, who otherwise pulls some shit with the core.

I'm shocked my college cancelled, five inches of snow and we just shrug and put on snow chains, its the ice storms that make people around here nervous. We had one about four years ago that knocked power out for a week and destroyed transponders from the weight of the ice. One of the best sights of my life was driving through town to get home and seeing a huge spray of sparks from one of them going and then a police car getting a branch through their back windshield from a branch snapping off. We don't get storms lime that often, but we do get a lot of snow in january

yeah ice storms scare me more than the snow, the sounds the trees and lines make because of the weight and there is so much damage to care from iced branches snapping off, I've never known snow to break a windshield at least.

We had one awful blizzard here a couple years ago. It was very quick moving, dumping maybe 18" of snow in a four-hour period. The worst part is it happened during rush hour, and the traffic here is already horrendous. I worked in a wealthy area and had to have a friend with a Jeep take me home.
