GF seems to think of Flying as the "air" type. Birds are just animals that can fly, so they only get it as a secondary type. The only pure Flying type is Tornadus, an air spirit, so that makes sense. The only other things I can think off are maybe clouds, balloons, or pic related.

No idea but, I hate the fact Doduo/Dodrio is a flying type. It's got no fucking wings. It could've been Fighting or something with some sweet kick moves.

If they nerf stealth rocks I would do it for them. Forget, Charizard, Talonflame, and Volcarona, did they really need to fuck over Bug and Ice types too? Especially any Bug/Flying not named Mega-Pinsir?

The best arguement I heard on here was that most normal/flying types have the ability to land on the ground. On the ground, the flying type could effectively be negatived (i.e roost mechanics), thus they could pass for just a normal type that has the ability to fly. Tornadus is the only pure flying type, and looking at Tornadus it appears it doesn't have the ability to land, thus making it a pure flying type.
