Hey /vp/
Longtime Pokemon fan here.
I really enjoy the series but one of the most important things to me is the challenge, hence why Platinum is my favourite. I don't mean battletoads-tier stuff, but basically the gyms and stuff actually requiring some amount of planning to beat (e.g. Volkner's Luxray had Ice Fang in Platinum, which one-shotted my Torterra before he could use Earthquake, so in the rematch I had to plan my moves around that)
I was really excited for X/Y but heard that it's the easiest game in the series thus far. No matter how polished a game is, I simply can't have fun if I steamroll everything.
What I want to ask is if the game put up a decent fight if:
-I switch of Exp Share (heard in these games it makes you overleveled very fast)
-I put the Battle Style on Set (I always do this)
-Don't use items in battle, or, use only as many items as the trainer you're facing does
-Don't use Megavolutions
