I love Heatran, but I've been using Rotom-H as my Fire-type in OU, been doing decently. Climbing out of 1700 is slow and painful.

Makes me wonder if Genesect was really THAT much better in comparison. I have a personal dislike for Heatran because I've felt the torment of Tormenttran before and it's obnoxious as hell.

This, heatran himself is good but he's not breaking the game. He's easy to switch in against a variety of things that would be much more dangerous in a world without him...and the things that he doesn't counter can easily fuck his world up....he doesn't have a real middle ground from my experience.

I dont get how Heatran is all that good, OP. Sure, he's tanky as fuck and with an Air Balloon and Sandstorm you can curve some of those weaknesses.
But I dont know, it seems like he's counterable.

People are 100% justified for using Heatran. It's an amazing pokemon. But the fact it's so good means you're going to see it all the time, which to me is kind of boring.

Same goes for Lucario, Scizor, Talonflame, Aegislash, etc.

That's why it's a 6v6 game, and not 1v1.

Pair him up with Rotom-W and Mega-Venu, then you'll see why Heatran is just so hard to stop. His presence alone changes the way your opponent plays.

The most recent heatran was in black and white 2, and outside of a synchronize lead you have no control control over what it's going to have when you catch it unless you resort to RNG abuse (the 3 guaranteed max IVs on one offs thing is new to this gen)
