Quality Control, and also they want to space it out so they can sort of give each game the time in their spotlight, as Nintendo believes thats the way to make the $$$ and emphasize their brand. It is sort of a Disney Vault type situation.

Doesn't really justify some of the shit that ends up on there, but there it is.

Pokemon on the VC would be a headache. So many glitches, so much multiplayer functionality to either replicate or axe (who wants Pokemon without multiplayer?). It is very unlikely to happen, especially with remakes happening so often.

Now that the server overload has calmed down the official release schedule will be as follows:

Japan: 1/9/14
UK & EU: 1/23/14
Aus & NZ: 2/20/14
East Asia: 3/20/14
USA & Canada: 4/17/14
Rest of Word: 6/19/14

The press releases are being sent out as we speak and the website will be updated at Midnight tonight (UTC) so expect "Serebii confirmed" within the next few hours.

The trials will last for 30 days from the release date in each territory and an additional (non legendary) pokemon, on top of those already announced, will be provided as a thank you for the patience of everyone who pays for a subscription. With the exception of Japan poketransporter will be released 36 days after bank in each territory to reduce potential for server overload.

I like that idea. 12-year-old Action Replay fags will download Pokebank the day it comes out, but once Poketransporter is released, their free trial of Pokebank is a week expired.

We would have loved to have been able to release it in every territory at the same time and, with the exception of Japan which got the app a few days before everyone else would have got it. Unfortunately we were not able to because of an unexpectedly high demand on the servers.

We have to stagger the release in order to buy more servers as we go along, there is no way round this.
