How many years will Gen 6 last?
>3 event legendaries, 1 of them most likely will be revealed this February and featured in the movie
>anime already introduced lots of new Pokemon but they didn't reach Grant's Gym yet

I find it weird that Gen 5 didn't grant Hoenn remakes since Gen 3 and 4 created a trend of making remakes each gen.

Gen 1 and 2 were programmed differently to later gens so the transition to gen 3 made a lot of mon unavailable. Remakes doxed that and we had a full legal dex since HGSS. Once the transporter works we have it again in 6, or we get the rest of the mon in Z and W.
Hownn remakes just aren't needed like Kanto and Kohto were.

Personally I liked the idea behind B2W2 more than just tossing out another remake.
HGSS weren't just simple remakes either, they were fleshed out games with new characters and an expansion of the story from GSC.
From a logical standpoint, we'll get the "third version" (probably X2/Y2, two versions is good money for nintendo) before a hoenn remake, as it's simpler for the company to rework existing assets (that being the 3D models and settings they already have) than to basically create new ones from scratch.
Remember, the transition from RBY/GSC to FRLG/HGSS was "Simple Sprites" to "More Complicated Sprites"
A theoretical Hoenn remake would be "Sprites" to "3D models"
It'll take longer than a third version of X/Y, so we'll get it towards the end of Gen 6 rather than next year.
Again, just my theory, though.

Least amount of new Pokemon ever, almost no legendaries to fuel the yearly movies, and a fucking Gen 7 Pokemon and region has been hinted at right off the bat. This generation was not built to last.
