I've put up a 5 IV protean froakie on the GTS, trying for a Regigas. I've heard froakies do pretty well, but I dunno if the same is true when asking for bank legendaries. Would it be better to ask for an Articuno instead and somehow trade my way up (I'm assuming through the dog trio)?

The dog trio is oddly kind of hard to get. Dog trios usually trade for other dog trio members. But, my jewing mon is usually a bank starter with '6IV HA Egg moves'

Are people taking bank starters for bank legendaries? I would think that they would already have them, do you just ask for a starter that isn't from the same gen as the legendary? Or will any gen work, cause I've got a legit 5 IV iron fist primape I'm gonna try breeding.

I haven't tried for bank legendaries yet. Usually, I put up a bank starter (Mudkips and Chimchars do particularly well) for Xerneas or Yveltal and then trade from there for one of the beast trio. I sort of went out on a limb and now I have a Xerneas up on GTS asking for Rayquaza.

Usually lv 30 works better. I used to actually bother putting in the effort and get it up to lv 63 to make it look like it was caught in Giant Chasm from Black/white but those always took around 10 hours to get any bites. Level 30 is a lot faster.

This was awhile ago now, but the birds were like a few hours inbetween. I would just leave the ditto, check the GTS in an hour or two and it would be traded for an Articuno/Moltres. Xerneas is much quicker.

Safari Dittos are easy to trade for Xerneas/Yvetal, If you want a articuno/zapdos/moltres is easier just offer a Xerneas/Yvetal. I have a box of each of X/Y legends (except zygarde it's worthless)
