>>17242911You can't start from absolute scratch and end up with a 5 IV Pokemon in less than an hour, no, but the thing is, you only have to start from scratch ONCE. I spent one day playing and catching a ton of Ditto with all the natures I figured I would need. In reality, the most commonly used ones in competitive training are adamant, modest, jolly and timid. Plus, the more Pokemon you breed, the more you have to work with in the future. Breed a 5 IV Pokemon in the field egg group and that opens the door to a bunch of possibilities. When you do finally breed your perfect Pokemon, Wonder trade off the leftovers and you tend to get other people's leftovers in return, which opens the door to even MORE possibilities, or hell, just come to one of the leftover trading threads on /vp/, and chances are someone can always hook you up. Plus, all the trading can net you a ton of Pokemiles which is a quick way to get a lot of Rare candies which can help training through the higher levels.
All in all, now that I've established the system, it takes me anywhere between 1-3 hours to get a 5 IV Pokemon, usually heavily depending on how many egg moves it needs, if any. I find it to be highly rewarding, and I like helping others by distributing my leftovers to the community. Pokegen if you want, I don't care, but I like earning my team and having the guarantee that they'll never be illegal or blocked.
