To make is short. -I've never played any Poké game after Gen 3. -I'm thinking of getting these Pokémon to Gen 6.Ditto lvl63, Rhydon lvl 55, Chansey lvl 64, Eevee lvl 25, Lapras lvl 15, Aerodactyl lvl 60, Omastar lvl 60, Hitmonlee lvl 30, Mew lvl 89, Mewtwo lvl 90, Zapdos lvl 84, Graveler lvl 60, Kadabra lvl 100, Haunter lvl 100, Articuno lvl 91, Moltres lvl 100 and Blastoise lvl 100 -I try to get any other shinies/legendaries from Gen 2 and 3 up to Gen 6 too So here are my questions: a) Is it even possible? b) Which Pokémon should I add for each Gen?

>>17242919 You can't pass pokemon above gen 2.
Anonymous
No, it's not possible to go from Gen 1 and 2 to the higher gens. Gen 3-6 is the only way possible.
Anonymous
It's impossible. After the switch past gen two pokemon became non transferable. Anything from gen three to gen six can be transferred though it's tedious.
Anonymous
Gen 1 and 2 can't be transferred up to gen 3. Better get your pokemon onto Pokemon Stadium 1 or 2 before the internal battery runs dry and your save is fucked.

Why is their level important at all

It'd be cool if someone made a tool for an emulator to convert gen II pokemon to gen III pokemon. No idea how it'd work with the changes to EVs, however. I'd really love to trade my Yellow team...

Ok thank you guys.

This is the reason they made Fire Red, Leaf Green, Soul Silver, and Heart Gold. So that the pokemon only available in those games could be transferred through the generation chain to other games.

You need a DS with a GBA slot to get pokemon from gen 3 to 4, then you need to get the pokemon from gen 4 to 5, then you need pokebank to get from gen 5 to 6. I'd probably just start from scratch in your situation, too much hassle to get pokemon from gen 3 to 6.

I finished Pokemon Y with my whole team around levels 76-88 (no traded mons for boosted XP, probably would have reached all 90+ with them).

Sure, let's remake red and blue, keeping all of the known glitches.

>>17242971 EVs and IVs both changed mechanics from 2>3. You could get away with the IV changes by simply doubling the IV (eg. 15 IV in HP would become 30 IV in HP), but you'd have to get rid of the effort values entirely as there is no parity to them at all.
Special IV would have to become the same in ATK and DEF to maintain parity (special split was handled similarly in Gen2).
I could probably write a script that could rip them from a save and allow you to import them in with pokegen or similar... but what's the point?

Basically OP you can only trade gen 1 pokemon up to gen 2 they made fire red/leaf green and heartgold/soul silver for this reason missingno glitch etc cant be done level is only important in game and not for competitive battling
Anonymous
Alright, thank you guys for the help. I'm going to save my money from Gen 4 and 5 then and only get Gen 6.

The correct solution: -Start in FireRed/LeafGreen -Go from there to Hoenn -Then HG/SS -Then Sinnoh -Next Unova -Cry until the release of Pokemon Bank 3 months/years from now -Go into Gen VI

>>17243254 if you already have then maybe no, depends on the price of emerald nowadays. Emerald has tons more pokemon, different story that joins ruby and saphire and adds more, and new after elite 4 area. It's claimed by some people to be the best pokemon game ever made

>>17243254 Emerald was quite a gem. Best of the Hoenn games at the very least. It improved a lot over Ruby and Sapphire. As far as Hoenn goes, if you only play one, play Emerald. If you really like Gen III though, some would recommend you play Ruby and/or Sapphire to get the full experience.

OP, if you want to complete the Pokedex you don't even need every game ever. Even people with Pokemon X or Y could complete the dex, all you need is some trading and breeding skills. Gen 1 and Gen 2 can trade mutually. Gen 3 onwards can only transfer to future gens, yet not back. Also, Pokemon Bank is not up yet and that is the way to transfer to gen VI.
