I have one too. I wouldnt carry a 3ds in my pocket or use the 3d feature. Plus I play with headphones so the speakers are irrelevant.
So why not get the cheaper version?
And it actually is really confy in your hands, way more than the 3ds or 3ds xl

I'd say Metagross, but then again I barely remember any shiny beyond those posted frequently (Ditto, Mew, Nidoran lines, Garchomp line). Since shiny Metagross is posted frequently for non-shitty reasons (like Garchomp), I guess it's generally considered one of the better shinies?

love the way it feels and when i was using the 3ds, the 3d feature was shit

tfw have 2ds, gf has 2ds, and 4ish friends are all playing x/y on 2ds

I understand mocking someone for going overboard with spikes, flames, dark colors (see Megazard X) but shiny Rayquaza looks pretty good, especially with the yellow markings on it. Black can work well if it's matched with something other than white, gray, or dark blue.

I have a 3DS and I haven't had any problems other than my SD card being corrupted. Not sure what experiences you've had. And anyone who breaks the hinges obviously isn't careful with it.
