This is kind of autistic of me, but I already play this way. When I see how many pokemon a gym leader has I only let myself use that many, if I "lose" then I just reset. I feel like a cheat just going at them with a full team of 6 and making it completely unfair.
I also try to make sure I'm not overleveled for any area so there's some degree of difficulty, and again the same idea of if I am 10-15 levels higher than everyone else, what's the point of playing? Any move will just about OHKO and there's no real fun in it. I also keep my battle style on Set instead of Shift, since again the gym leaders/e4/champions and other "boss" battles don't get to switch out their pokemon when one of mine faints, so why should I get that kind of advantage?
