yes but its been proven that is where the IV guarantee caps. You can always get more ivs, but at least three at 60. If you are focusing on a certain grass shaking pattern and you walk into a patch that shook different, but had your desired Pokemon, then the patch pattern is the one you just walked into. So if you were looking for hard shaking fast grass, walked into a patch that was light fast shaking and it had the Pokemon you wanted, you are now looking for light fast shaking grass. Borders have 50 percent chance of breaking your chain, and corners are 25 percent chance of breaking your chain

You know, i wouldn't mind the little zones to use it. I wouldn't mind the grass misteriously being the wrong one. I wouldn't mind not being able to use it in the long grass or in the safari.

I wouldn't mind it if we just had the chain counter like in DPP.

No, you don't get it. The shiny counter in DPP made the number go up if the chain was correct, or disappear if it was wrong.

Also being able to show my friends i killed 60 consecutive babies was cool.

if you are still having trouble chaining, try catching the Pokemon, I don't know where I read it, but catching apparently gives a higher rate for the next Pokemon to be what you're looking for in the chain

My chain broke after I accidentally walked into an empty patch while resetting at 60. Oh well.

Here's the Furfrou I managed to caught! Kiloude guy says she has outstanding potential despite only having max IVs in SpD and Spe. Gonna calculate out the rest.

Was running around my friend's safari and caught a shiny Slugma. Planning on raising it and evolving it into a Magcargo.

It actually apparently has superior potential with 31 in HP and Defense, but I know I can't do much with this fellow competitive wise.

Ok, I have a question about the efficiency of PokeRadar vs MM.

At a chain of 60, you are now guaranteed 3 perfect IVs with about a 10% chance of having 4+. With a Synchronizer, I can pick the nature.

It takes me about 2 hours to get a shiny like that, less with a really good grass patch.

Is it worth MMing for perfect stats or just chaining to save time and hope I get a little lucky with my stats? I don't MM, so I don't know how many times I could chain a shiny before I'm hitting the average time it would have taken to get with hatch and release.

MM if: You want 4-5IVs guaranteed (provided you're willing to prepare parents), egg moves, a 100% certain nature/and or HA.

Radar if none of those of those strike you as particularly worth it for the time investment (a few hours versus possibly multiple days).

Tl;dr Unless Egg moves/HA/near perfect IVs are really important for the mon you want, chaining will likely get you it faster.

I don't think so. Unless I just got insanely lucky, which is possible. Immediately after catching a shiny, another shiny patch popped up. I wasn't expecting it so I walked into a decoy patch I hadn't seen trying to get to it, but still.

At the very least, the same pokemon you were chaining will keep appearing if you continue, so regardless of whether the shiny odds change once you've encountered one, the chain continues. It also doesn't reset the counter that ups the IVs at 40 and 60.

3IV's on the other hand is EXTREMELY lucky, BUT if it was hacked, why not just give it 6IV's?

So yeah, which stats have the 31IV's? If it seems random, like HP, Attack, Def, then it may not be hacked after all. But if it is specific to the Nature and build of the Pokemon, say Spc Att, Spc Def and Speed, then it's fair to say that it is hacked.
