>>17298763More it's that we never got Green, unless you count Green being reskinned with Blue's engine for the American release and being called Blue. True, this was fixed for FR/LG, but the Rival is still called Blue simply for consistency. The only thing that really screwed her is that Red is canon, and she has not been referenced in anything else. The manga is totally different from the games, but if you want to bring that into it, she takes on the outfit of the female protag of FR/LG in that saga of the manga, so no, she was never "replaced" by her, she IS her. She was based on the beta art that had a female protag that was dummied out later, possibly due to memory constraints. FR/LG brought the idea back with other things that they didn't have the chance to add in the first gen. They are one and the same, and the manga recognizes that.
