So we've had the new games for a while now, and the dust has settled.

Tell me /vp/, how has your opinion of the Gen 6 starters changed since you first saw the trio being revealed? Were you initially a Fennekin fan but then changed to Froakie? Did the Greninja tongue scare you off? Has Chesnaught become an unlikely bro?

When the first stages were released I thought Chespin looked good apart from its arms, Fennekin looked good apart from its head and Froakie was ugly as fuck.

When the evos were released I though Braixen was cool, Frogadier looked good but irritated me because I had elected Chespin at this point and Quilladin is the most hideous abomination ever conceived. Considered switching to Fennekin.

When the final evos were leaked I thought Dephox was meh, Greninja looked okay but was terrified it would be water/fighting. Was weirded out by Chesnaught's arms at first but it's official art swung me around. Ended up picking Chespin.

I was going towards Fennekin, although Froakie also seemed interesting. I remember when Delphox was released. Didn't like those weird blotches on the robe and the hair ear looked too much like some weird blob. Cute smile though.

I can never decide starters based on 1st or 2nd forms since I don't find one that appeals so wait till 3rd is revealed

Chesnaught and Greninja have become my top 3 favourites
Greninjas tongue made me love it while Chesnaughts signature move, shit as it maybe I find cool
Delphox is good, I like how they all have a rpg element and the secondary typings

I was dead set on using Fennekin, since I always choose the fire starter. However, after it's final evo was revealed, I decided to replace my starter with Torchic.

I still think Fennekin has the best design of the 1st Stage starters, but Braixen and Delphox look fucking awful. Chestnaught also looks like shit. Greninja is the only good design among them.

froakie day one, the line is one of favourite pokemon ever. helped that I instantly fell in love with the tongue scarf unlike a lot of people.
chespin line has grown on me, probably one of the better grass starters.
fennekin line is still meh. saved by the fact that the kalos starter make a great trio together.

Once the final evos were revealed, I was a little put off by the scarf tongue and arwing head on Greninja, but I've grown to love it. I've grown to like Chesnaught despite the horrible Quilladin, though I do wish it's arms were a bit shorter.

Delphox a shit both competitively and aesthetically, in my opinion.

Right from the announcement I was a Froakie guy
In June I cut myself off of all potential news. No serebii, no /vp/, nothing until I had beat X
The last Pokemon I saw leaked were Flechling and Gogoat
My bother his friend and myself all started at the same time
2 Froakies and a Fennekin with no knowledge of what to expect.
Frogadiers came around and they were pretty cool. Braixen showed up and some jeering was exchanged.
I was the first one to make to the rival battle. Calem sent out Quilladin and all 3 of us almost burst into tears over how stupid it looked.
Greninja was easy to predict given how Frogadier looked and I wasn't offended by the tongue scarf. But when Calem sent out Chestnaught I took it all back. Chestnaught blew me away with how cool he looked, even now he's my favourite of the three

I never liked how Mudkip and Oshawott looked, so I was happy when Froakie was revealed since I always leaned towards the water types. Chespin was super cute, though, and I would have picked Chespin if Froakie had a terrible final evolution. Greninja grew on me though, it was a close one. I didn't like Delphox at all and still don't think much of it.

Team Broakie to this day despite buying the giant Chespin plush at the Nintendo store. Going to buy the Greninja plush though.

Honestly I wasn't too keen on any of them, and I still aren't. If I had to choose a favorite it would perhaps be the frog or chest-nuts, and I initially hated greninja's tongue-scarf. I still think it's tongue was a terrible Idea, but I don't hate it anymore. This was the first gen that I boxed/traded away my starter.

Started off as Team Fennekin, but also really liked Chespin, its so adorable

Braxian was revealed and I thought the mage concept was cool, lost all hope for Chespin line and really liked Frogadier

Instantly fell in love with Delphox, the fire mage concept is so cool, also really liked Chesnaught, was a bit iffy with Greninja at first (Frogadier looks better imo and had so much potential)
Fennekin was my first shiny :3

Loved and stuck with Fennekin right from the first trailer. I'm glad all the harsh opinions on Delphox's design generally cooled.

I was undecided on all three at the beginning. I was sold on Quilladin and Chesnaught is my favourite. Tough yet still goofy and adorable like chespin and quilladin were.

I was originally gonna use Fennekin but didn't really like Braixen. Delphox won me over though, and the initial furfag butthurt that it wasn't a sexy fox witch was amusing.

I opted for Froakie instead when I got around to starting X and I'm still pretty indifferent on the whole family but its growing on me now that I'm using it. Weird as hell in amie though [greninja likes its tongue getting pet the best?]

Saving Fennekin for Z or whatever.

Froakie fan since day 1 of its reveal but not gonna lie, I faltered a bit on my loyalty when Greninja was finally revealed, mainly because I really felt in love with the design and name of that fake,on Gallantoad, but once I got to know Greninja and his goofy antics in Amie my loyalties were forever set with a golden lock.
