I have a question that hopefully someone can help me with.

I live in the US and I got a Pokemon from the UK from a trade. Although the general rule of thumb for MM is that two compatible Pokemon need to come from different regions for the method to work, I've also been told that MM only works with Pokemon of countries with different languages.

Furthermore, there's usually a black box on foreign Pokemon that have an abbreviation based on where the Pokemon came from (JPN, KOR, SPA, ITA, FRE, etc.), however the UK Pokemon doesn't have that.

Will the Masuda Method still work?

In Gen 6, it entirely depends on the language tag, meaning someone with a US cart playing in Japanese can give you a Japanese tagged mon for MM.

If you got an English mon from anywhere, even Japan or France, it won't help.

And to answer your question, no MM will not work. The black box with the JPN, KOR, ITAL, ect. DOES matter.

US and UK are classed as the same place (ENG), so you'll have to switch one out for a different parent if you want to MM.

In short, yes, it's the language that matters, not the country the person who originally caught the Pokemon happens to be playing from.

Best thing to look for MM is a foreign father of any species in the same egg group as you're breeding in (perferably with good IV's, if that matters to you).

Because with it, you'll be able to breed any shiny you want in that egg group and be able to MM it. The only bugbear with this is that you'll need a female of the species you're trying to breed.

yeah what abi said. Because it was so early in the chain it wasn't guaranteed any perfect ivs, I'm shocked it had the right nature. Judge says its average so not a complete waste, pretty sure she's going up on the gts for something, not sure what yet.

I've found Pokemon wild without three perfect ivs as well as random shinies without three ivs. As far as I know the only Pokemon with set ivs are safari where you get at least two and chained Pokemon where you get 1 perfect IV for every 20 chained with a cap at 60 chained

As for the Sport Ball thing, I just looked them up, and they aren't the Gold ones. the gold balls are the ones you get for transferring Pokemon from Gen 3 which I sadly cannot do.

However, the Sport Balls DO have a cool "S" etched into them, which is great because, well, Scizor starts with an "S". I'll add it to the list of Pokemon I definitely want to catch and send over to spread.

The no Attack/Speed is fine though. Milotic isn't a fast Pokemon, and it definitely doesn't need Attack.

The missing Spc Def on the other one is unfortunate though, as Milotic should be as bulky as possible

I'll always love David the most, but I mean, I watched it as it aired, so I had David when I was early teens and the show was still so magical for me, so I guess I might be biased a bit.

Matt was fantastic though. His Rings of Ahketaan speech ALMOST turned me. And I have to give props to him, because I told myself that death would never top Davids, and he certainly proved me wrong because I'm still having trouble deciding who's exit I preferred.

The fact that it only has 1 perfect IV seems to imply that it is legit yeah. Most likely someone SR it, and it's since been cloned as a bargaining tool on the GTS.

But it it also one of those "you'll never truly know" type things, so if it bothers you, like I said to the Articuno guy, just trade it on for something you prefer.

guys, i was asking to myself, what was the hardest catch in your pokemon trainer life? i think mine is a tie between getting my shiny kyogre in shappire and a metang in soulsilver.

Pretty much everything to be honest, the only legends outside of x/y are latios/as, the original birds and just the entry for kyogre.

No sweat though, I wouldn't make you spend the time. I could probably run everything through gts by tossing one of the twin towers out for the others. I'm just worried I'll trade for a legend no one wants and get dead ended with some crap.

no legendary is dead crap. someone will eventually trade it.
usually within ~10 minutes

i started with a shiny gulpin, went for latios and got the rest from there

Umm.... I caught a Shiny Geodude in HG, and a Shiny Abra in X. Both of which I only had one turn to catch, or else I would have lost them to Self Destruct/Teleport.

Basically, I ran into the two "Nightmare" shinies, and I actually caught them both, 1 turn each obviously.

Gave the Abra away, have the now Shiny Golem waiting for transfer in White 2.

Not even! Got the Geodude in the world luckiest Poke Ball, and the Abra was... Quick Ball I think? Couldn't take the risk, so I remember asking people to give me catching power, and then I used the Quick Ball, which I believe had the best chance of catching it.

I only use my Masterball on Mewtwo's, because I consider it the Mewtwo Ball haha. Perfect color scheme, and a big "M" kinda' made it so any Pokemon that isn't Mewtwo in a Master Ball looks wrong to me.
