With Hatching O-power turned on, a full batch of eggs hatch in less than 10 minutes - less than 5 min for species that hatch quickly. You actually think anyone is shoving coins into their 3DS, putting it down, get up and go somewhere, come back after 10 minutes, take out the coin, shove it in again, put it down for another 10 minutes, rinse and repeat?
What people ACTUALLY do is more along the lines of start breeding, watch a show on TV or internet while giving 5% of their attention to their 3DS (this level of multitasking is easy for normal, functioning human beings), and when their 30 minute show is finished they've either gotten their breeding finished, or are close to it.
tl:dr coin under d-pad is fuck tons more tedious than actual breeding. Get your facts right.
