Even though I hate the very premise of Xros Wars, there is one thing I will give it in favor of pokemon. At last, something does what I wish pokemon did, just have your creatures act like real animals reproduction wise. Although, this does not describe how it is digimon reproduce, but given the nature of digimon, I'm sure that no one is going to pull their childish nonsense this time. The digiworld of Xros Wars is an actual world and not made up of data. I can't say much of the other digiworlds, and to some extent I disagree with Xros World's interpretation since calling it a "digital" world is just arbitrary. However, who is to say there isn't a way for certain processes to be emulated by the digital world as if they were an actual biological process. Everything else about the digital world works on the same principles as our own, albeit things may end up combined in random ways due to data fragments. Otherwise, I have no compunctions about defying canon the same way I do with pokemon since there is no such thing as one interpretation.
