Flamethrower/Dark Pulse/Hyper Voice coverage combined with base 106 speed and 109 SpA is incredibly useful.
You can switch in on ghost types and then blow them up with dark pulse, and the only ghost types that outspeed a Pyroar are Timid Gengar, Mega-Gengar and Timid Froslass, and nobody uses Froslass and as far as I know Timid Gengar isn't very popular.
It also outspeeds Mega Lucario unless it's Jolly/Timid and can OHKO with flamethrower, and Pyroar can facetank an unboosted vacuum wave or mach punch and survive. And on the off chance the enemy's obligatory Genesect is paralyzed or doesn't have a scarf, it outspeeds and OHKOs him too.
It's also good against anything that relies on substitute to survive and do its job thanks to Hyper Voice.
There's also the fact that fire is incredibly useful offensively in OU, and if you can get away with it defensively it's also good for soaking up burns.
Really the only big drawbacks it has are lack of a good fourth move and fire typing which is a mixed blessing. Even Unnerve is more useful than you would think. There are a lot of pokemon that are completely dependent on their berry in order to be useful, for example Bellyjet Azumarill, Trevenant, every chestorest user and a few others I know I'm forgetting.
People need to stop seeing a rock weakness and instantly condemning the pokemon to NU.
