Although lately I've started to come to terms that it's OK to like cute overmarketed things, so I'm starting to like Pikachu and the other Pikaclones as well.
I used to hate Pikachu because it was the face of Pokémon in the anime and other things. And as an extension I thought of the other Pikaclones as cheap and waste of Dex space.
Thinking about it though, it may even be the feature of Pokémon that makes the most sense out of a real-life evolutionary standpoint: All electric rodents may descend from a common ancestor.
