okay kents, listen up because I don't really like you guys all that much and feel weird contributing. I noticed something that's lacking in all the designs I've seen so far of your final stage fire starter. Thorny devils have a 'false head' on their shoulders that they present to predators. you need to capitalise on this and turn it into something original in order to leave a lasting impression with your designs. I quickly sketched something to simplify and highlight the feature. you know what it looks like to me? some sort of furnace, cannon, or any sort of projectile weapon you can think of. you could even go the wobbafett or hydreigion routes with the head. Please don't make the lizard suffer from IJGBS
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>17336294 I honestly love these guys so much.
My one contribution is that the first one should slim down a bit maybe? And add a more analyzing/mischievous look over its blank stare at the moment.
The third Evo doesn't really fit with the prankster theme we are trying to go with though. Looks more 'badass' then anything.
The second Evo is fantastic though. Absolutely loving it.

More classic life guard stuff?

I like the starters final forms as grass/fairy, water/poison, and fire/dragon. Once I'm off my phone I can make some artwork. I dunno if you're planning on making this an actual game, but it might be a good idea to tweak the type chart a bit. Ice and especially poison. Ice should get a water resist, and poison should be se against water. I don't think you guys have too many poison types, they're aren't as many of them as some other types. I like the toxic arthropod trio idea too.

>What if there was more focus on the tail? In most of the evolution ideas, I don't really see anything incorporated with it. The first stage having a stem tail, the second could have leaves for the awkward middle stage and the final having a flower-esque tail - working it's way up to a flower. This ties in well with the idea of having a more mischievous and mean spirited fairy approach as it ties in with the Australian lore of feral fairies which leave magic dust that causes weeds to grow. See http://www.mythocreatology.com/Shadow.html The stamen tips of the final evo's tail could leave behind pollen that causes weeds to grow as it flies or something. An increased responsiveness in the antennal lobe when pre-exposed to the sex pheromones shown in studies is considered a long-term effect exhibited post twenty-four hours and serves as an advantage for males where they can alter their performance in advance prior to encountering a female that is reproductively active. However, this is also a disadvantage where the moth’s fitness decreases since they require more maintenance associated with their long-term memory neural structures."

>>17349175 Firstly, I wouldn't mind that as much as you seem to do. It is a natural part of reality, after all.
Secondly, we could play up the idea that while it may look as though the males are under the females spell, the 'orders' actually correspond with the males own wishes for distruction and the like. Did something for the fairy trio idea.
The Burrunjo didn't quite seem enough like a fairy type so I added some jabberwocke traits (the green colors, the stripes on the tail, the pointless fins). The idea is that it breathes a mist the same way a normal dragon would breathe fire. The mist engulfs and confuses opponents, giving it the element of surprise (kind of in reference to how they apparently disappear in a mist)
Not much to say about the Yowie...It's just a big sasquatch thing...didn't really change it that much.
I feel like the fairy type just doesn't suit the bunyip that much, so I tried going with the Billyo, which is apparently the Australian equivalent to the unicorn with horns made of silver that comes out during the night, running almost faster than the eye can see.

It doesn't have to lose it's fierceness, as you can make it something like Pic-related and not like a chicken.

Green isn't a good color for it, and the feathers should at least be a different color than the body. (Again beauty aspect for Fairy type.)

I think lucille's sasquatch looks more interesting though. I also can't figure out what would connect this trio like those in the past. There were birds, landbeasts, sprites, cloud djinn, and musketeer deer, but I don't know what any of these have in common.

>>17374441 Oh no! I'm not trying to get your to drop the design, not by a long shot.
I actually like the ghost gum crab idea.
And by the light, yes, I meant the mouth. I'm kinda stressed and forgetting my words tonight.

>>17374642 Yeah single stage.
I remember a few face designs were drawn up but I can't find them in the dropbox.

Besides Hati and Sköll, there's also Fenrir. Lots of wolf options

>>17375716 I mean an actual Norse theme, but I guess only fangames link the pokemon designs to the region as much as that.
And yeah, Fenrir I'm aware of. Would be a beautiful legendary trio.

Anyways, I retried the rock biter/fair dinkum rockmon idea. I drew some inspiration from gorillas and cavemen for the final evo

walking through caves is usually like
geodude/geodude/geodude/zubat/geodude

greenlizard/bluelizard/zubat/redlizard/purplelizard
it would still be common as fuck but it would make it a little funner/more varied at the start game

Tell me people, what pokemon concepts need threads
