Assault vest is a permanent taunt. Takes some pokemon completely out of the game.
Healing wish is effectively a free switch in and helps regain a lot of momentum and gives injured sweepers a new lease on life.

Anything with an Assault Vest that doesn't force Rotom out, but instead baits a Trick is a perfect counter for Rotom, especially if your team relies heavily on physical attacks. That's the best use I've seen so far.

0 Attack IVs (for Foul Play)
Psychic/Psyshock
HP Fire (Can OHKO Scizor and Genesect, and 2HKO Ferrothorn)
Signal Beam
Heal Bell/other cleric move

Screens aren't as effective any more with mixed mons like Mega Luke running around, and that Sp Attack stat is too good to pass on. And Magic Bounce is great on switch-ins

Well, you're gonna be screwing yourself over if you need to switch one of your faster mons in while trick room is still active.

Trick room should only be used in trick room teams, with very very few exceptions.

If you just want one more sweeper, consider Espeon.

Only babies will bitch at you for using all OU team, use whatever you want.

Just be aware that you'll be facing a lot of annoying OU shit too, like Rotom-Wash, Aegislash and Talonflame.

I suggest playing around a bit in showdown before going ahead into breeding for wi-fi, it's easier to make adjustments in there.

On a side note, UU is pretty fun too.

I was actually considering Avalugg, he seems pretty good.

I used variations of Togekiss, NP+3 attacks, Roost + defog (which wasn't very good).
In all fairness, I used him to tank fighting and bug moves, while also beating the shit out of dragons.

Aside from that, I think you should replace Froslass or at least change her set. Suicide leads aren't that good nowdays with defog, especially since you don't even have taunt on other mons.
Consider a pokemon with SR, such as Nidoqueen (still waifu material depending on your tastes).

I'm almost positive Chansey is still OU.
Hitmonchan is a cool guy and I love him, but i don't think he's particularly strong. You could consider Hawlucha, or Medicham if you like those. Hawlucha can pull off some pretty good surprise sweeps.

I think you're trying to do too much with your Sigilyph. Without Roost it's gonna be pretty hard to buff up. Maybe change Cosmic Power and Stored Power for something else?

Hawlucha is pretty good in UU without Aegislash to completely destroy him. Doublade still walls him completely but he's not super common.

I've been using a sub + red card set with decent success so long as I put him in at a decent time.

Yes it does.
It's a pretty free setup if they're using a setter as their lead. Mostly it just gets fucked up by faster mons that can 1 shot him before he gets off sub. Also noivern before SD and Unburden.

I got up to about 1750 with it, but then I lost 6 games in a row, and I'm back at 1630. 3 were due to luck and I consider sort of inevitable (Stone edge missed 3 times in a row, frozen, crits, paralyzed 4 turns consecutively), but in the other 3 I got smashed by objectively superior players. 2 of 3 three were using scarfed Landorus-Ts which I had no idea what to do with. The other guy took out Aegislash with a sheer cold Lapras and then passed a swords dance and dual screens to a Return Snorlax and swept me.

So I guess my question is, how do I git gud?

That Politoed is dead weight. You're just stalling out your own rain. I go Scarf with just enough HP investment to survive a Charizard Y Solar Beam and 2HKO with HP Rock.

HydraRest isn't reliable this gen, by the time your Goodra is low on health rain will be gone.

Fire Fang on Rhyperior is pretty useless, and you're just making it more weak to water by putting it on a rain team.

Lilligant should be Timid and run HP Ice or Ground or something

You can't really make a whole team about Rain this gen. Instead, try too get good mons that work well without rain.

The politoad isnt staying in on the rain, it's there to set it up, then switch. threatening with Perish song every so often.
Rhyperior isnt there to do anything more than Redirect electric attacks that would otherwise destroy the team and you're right about Fire fang. Sorry, I should've clarified that this is a Doubles/Triples team hence the seamingly Gimicky sets.

Switcheroo+assault vest works like a permanent taunt on whoever I gift it to, Thunder wave and Entrainment both work to stop sweeps, the latter is mostly for pokemon like Mega-mawile who need their abilities to function, though magic guard and encore are also good choices for this slot. Healing wish has great synergy with Megachomp if you use him early to wreck havoc, and switch him out when he's getting low, so he can come back for round 2 when the entire team is battered and beaten for a clean sweep. the same can be said for talonflame, though it's not as ball-busting.

yeah i love shiftry too. it's pretty versatile could go mixed, physical, or special.

I go physical with seed bomb, knock off, swords dance, low kick/explosion/etc. to pretty good effect.

Growth is a good move for Shiftry on Sun teams, since under the sun both of his stats will be doubled. You'll want a Grass and Dark type move for STAB - Giga Drain, Dark Pulse, Solarbeam and Leaf Storm are all good options. For your final slot, Abomasnow and Tyranitar are sun teams' worst enemies, so try a Fighting-type move like Focus Blast or Low Kick.

You have to be careful with Growth, though - Shiftry is frail, so only set up the move when you know your opponent is going to switch. They're not going to leave a Psychic, Grass, Ghost or Ground type in on a Shiftry.

So im not that competitive, and I haven't played Gen 6 yet

this was the first team I put together (gen 5) but i dont know if its any good
I really want to just use people i like a lot (Smeargle, Dragonite, Lucario, Sableye) but I dont who to replace rotom wash for

the only reason hes on my team is because one of my friends who is competitive tells me hes really useful
