I found myself 4 shinies in 3 hours of hunt, and happened my first encounter in fire safari was a shiny. Yeah, lucky, but clearly safari is just that easy to get something.

I find it understandable. Event distributions are a lot easier to set up in Japan, where there are Pokémon Centers all over the country. Organizing Pokémon events every single month with retailers like Gamestop is not feasible, and distributing everything online wouldn't be any fun.

Walking and or driving is not an adventure.
I don't use pokegen. You make it sound like it is difficult to go to a place that has an event and then participate in said event. Unless you are a cripple, it's not.
