/vp/ I have not played Pokemon in years and X and Y are my first games since Platinum

I just tried Black/Black2 a couple weeks ago and they are great. The starters are ugly but the rest are cool.

My point is, why is X and Y being called one of the best in the series when the story is much worse than the 4th and 5th generations story. It's as boring as Ruby/Sapphire was when you beat the elite four, and a lot of the time that was supposed to be spent making innovative Pokemon, was spent on making over-designed mega evolutions. Keep in mind that not all megas are like that though.

So why are gaming websites calling X and Y a landmark for the series? A landmark of shit? It's not THAT bad, but the games are really watered down compared to other games.
