I find that hard to believe, you can't go five seconds into Pokémon research without getting a retarded amount of Missingno information.
It's a program glitch in the original Pokémon games that manifested as a Pokémon encounter, it was known to fuck up saves, clone items, and make the game buggy as shit, but since Pokémon was a new thing and kids on the playground have too much imagination, the glitch evolved as a legend and continues today as a retardedly annoying meme spouted by autists and genwunners.
