So, what kind of things do you like to see in a romhack? I've been working on one for awhile now, but I want to get an opinion on what things people generally like to see, as well as things they don't like seeing.

new, as in, fakemon? or the new gen 4/5/6 etc?

and it's HGSS. i'm able to do things like map editing, somewhat, since there have been many strides in DS game hacking, yet it's difficult to do the things, which is why GBA games are still what's being hacked the most.

but, in mine, i've put some of the new pokemon in, including the following sprites and such.

These fakemon you find on the internet are complete garbage and you shouldn't include them. However, you should create new designs with new type combinations and override the original pokemon. It is always nice playing a rom hack with new, never seen pokemon.

Original settings/regions. I don't want to have to trudge through the same damn region for the umpteenth time like I did on my Game Boy, even with a completely different plot (cf. the total clusterfuck that was Snakewood).

Make a rom hack like this.

It depends on what kind of romhack you're going for. If you're keeping the base game the same but editing stats/moves/abilities/levels/Pokemon distribution, I'm pretty okay with anything that isn't too retarded. I liked how BB/VW provided two versions of its patch, one with all the Pokemon and changed trainer sets, another with altered stats and moves included.

I'd like to see more DS hacks, but they are a pain in the ass to make. I honestly prefer fakemon, but they're a controversial subject.
