P.S. You might be surprised, but many people are smart enough to google things before asking others. I am one of those people, but rather than scrolling through pages of results about the masuda method, and eventually stumbling across an answer, I took a slightly faster approach and asked the friendly /vp/ community.

So If you breed a male Pokemon with it's regular ability with a Ditto it's possible the offspring will get the hidden ability or does the male parent also have to have the hidden ability?

If you're asking if the chances of getting a shiny go higher with each egg, no. As long as you're not switching out the foreign one to one from the same place as the other, you're fine.

thanks a lot, that clears up my doubt. already at 15 boxes of petilils and i got worried because i was using a jpn petilil and an oddish of mine, and i changed them for a petilil i hatched with a jpn ditto, ill just keep hatching then, wish me luck

You're not guaranteed a shiny after hatching a specific amount of eggs. It's random. So, no, changing the parents (providing both parents still come from different language games) will not increase/decrease your odds.
