Was Lumiose Tower egg breeding thingy intentionally developed? What if GF removes anything alike on next generation and you have to hatch egg the old way?

When I first found out about this I'd hatch eggs there, but all the hassle of having to go fly and back all the time was just too much work tbh,

It has nothing to do with egg breeding in the sense that they simply made an area that is a circle, just like the battle Subway in BW/2. It wasn't "intentional" for breeding. If gen 7 doesn't have a circular area, oh well.

Though knowing /vp/, they'll probably get in a snit about how Game Freak knows what they're doing to hatch eggs and purposefully didn't include an area like this just to stop them.

I use a piece of ripped cardboard off or random crap. Got some off of my tissue box and a toilet paper roll. Doesn't fuck it up nearly as much

All you do is gather a ton of eggs ( I usually get maybe 20?) and then fly over and sit around while they hatch.

Hatching this way just seems fucking retarded. Flying back and forth to get new eggs seems like way more work, and you have to hit A when the Pokemon actually hatches anyway.

Is it actually worth it to get 5 eggs, fly to lumiose, bike to the center, set up a coin or whatever, then have to still pay attention and press A each time the egg hatches?
sounds like a pain in the ass process to avoid a pain in the ass process

Gen 3 and 5 had a "hold button to hatch" method,
same reason why the daycare route is generously straight. they know it's widely convenient.

The tower don't let you get any sort of time, the hatching animation still requires you to be there. It will be an intentional mechanism the day you can skin naming and animation for each egg.
Or better, they create a hating box in the daycare where eggs are automatically put and hatch if you walk or over a certain amount or irl time. And you can still accelerate it by puting a poke in the box with magma armor and such.
