by all means, play them. They are pretty good, and the combat system is a nice change to pokemon. If you have also not played pokemon conquest, do so.

Ya but I don't like how they handled the story/casting. I mean quagsire is clearly a less 3d version of wigglytuff And like almost immediately you meet 2 legendaries. And I get that this game was aimed at younger kids but I thought they drilled in the whole "friendship and trust" themes too much

I forget which one it was, but the one where wigglytuff and his/her gang team up on you and try to kill you or whatever.

I could not beat that part and therefore I gave up on the game.

If you ask me, it was the only story that was good in the series. Power of friendship (is it really that bad?) and parroty text aside, it at least gave me characters I cared about, which is more than what I can say for the characters in the other two games. Though I haven't played Sky, only Time. Maybe the characters become excellent in the episodes, I dunno.

Are you talking about Gates? I thought Explorers was worse for partner focus, but that's probably due to other prominent characters such as Emolga taking up some space. Explorers doesn't even have that, given the Wigglytuff Guild do nothing except spout verbal tics all day.

Explorers of Time was the only one I've played. Never beat it admittedly. I got all the way to Darkrai and his gang of bullshit once or twice. Got savaged by them and never bothered again. Not being able to pick your party for it either pretty well sucks too, just stuck with yourself, your partner, and Cresselia.

Explorers only got good with Sky when it came to the characters, thanks to the Bonus Episodes. Otherwise, most of the characters were paper-thin with few exceptions. Gates was more solid in that aspect.

There are no Pokemon hidden behind DLC, it's basically all extra dungeons that are either intended as sources of P2W goodies or there's one or two that are balls hard.

GTI's story sucked. It was essentially a rehash of Rescue Team's, only the pacing seems way more forced. At least the strengthened character development makes up for it.

Is Explorers of Sky basically just a better version of Darkness and Sky, or are all three of them fairly different in terms of the story?

I'm wondering what they're going to do with the 6th gen Mystery Dungeon (there's got to be another coming, r-right?) in terms of story and difficulty. I think it's a unanimous sentiment that the story was a step backwards after EoS and that the main story was much too easy.
