It has the opposite of a good movepool. It's limited and predictable as whit, with just exactly ONE move to combo its Contrary.
It would be great if it had one priority to compensate its slowness, and maybe stuff like close combat.

Okay, this is both a blessing and a curse. It only has 2 weaknesses, but the lack of resistances makes it hard to switch in at times.

I love Malamar. Hell, it was the 2nd pokemon I bred in this generation, but this is the main reason I have a hard time finding a spot for it on my team.

to exploit Contrary? That's pretty much the only one. the rest of its movepool isn't especially thrilling because of its stats.

I don't understand Gamefreak, it's like they intentionally gave every Pokemon, except for like 2 or 3 lackluster stats/movepool/something else.

The phrasing for the evasion clause is just something like A Pokemon may not have the moves double team or minimize in its moveset", you can still raise evasion in other ways like accupressure I'm pretty sure
