>Fringe groupsWell, general sapience of most Pokemon aside (I personally think that almost all of them are sapient, though this doesn't necessarily mean all are on human levels of intelligence, just above every animal on Earth at the worst). I don't think that's canon in the kiddy world of Pokemon.
The dilemma is that your relationship wouldn't be on equal footing. You would have to stop being Trainer and Pokemon in that sort of way.
