Why doesn't Destiny Knot pass down 6 IVs? It would cut the time to breed perfect Pokemon immensely, since you don't have to rely on that 1/6 chance of getting exactly the 5IVs you need passed on.

you don't need 6 perfect IVs unless you're building a mixed sweeper.
You can just leave out the attack you don't use.

What if you need 0 IV in speed, like Aegislash?
Just imagine if this happened the threads here on /vp/ begging for a 6IV Ditto. It is already fucking annoying as it is

Why don't all Pokemon just have 6 IVs? And why arent they born at level 100, with smogon movesets?

Why doesn't defeating Pokemon give 200 EVs? It would cut down the time on EV training immensely

Breeding two 4IVs to get a 5IV is a 1/24 chance with 5IVs passed down

With 6 it's 1/4, it benefits everyone.

Except it's just as easy to catch a 0 IV Pokemon and breed it onto a child, especially since 6IV passed on makes it 31 times easier to give all your special sweepers 0 Atk IVs

Everything you listed has an obvious drawback especially in the context of the single player campaign. The 5IV vs 6IV is an arbitrary choice, but they chose the more difficult one out of some false sense of adding variety or difficulty or something.

Then again, I guess that's the story of IVs overall

you don't need 6IVs because depending on all non neutral natures one stat will have reduced growth, there is no reason to have 31 spatk IV on a machoke
