Hey, /vp/. Any of you heading to VGC Regionals tomorrow morning? It's my first official tournament, so I'm not sure what to expect.

not going to lie there is a huge difference in the vgc metagame compared to 3v3 or smog on singles. you should definately get some practice and breed a couple doubles specific pokemon before you go

They need to start making rounds that deviate from the usual doubles, like 3v3 or rotation. It would really put your skills to the test if they changed the battle style every few rounds.

If you don't have any doubles experience and your opponents do, you're going to get destroyed.

Doubles is completely different from singles.

Yeah, I've only done a few double battles since 6th gen started, so I'm definitely expecting to face some opponents with a lot more preparation than me. I'll be practicing and doing some last-minute breeding tonight in hopes of losing a little less tomorrow.

make sure you have a prankster taunter (liepard) and priority moves at bare minimum. You need to be able to deal with trick room, tailwind, and weather.

Read some reports at Nuggetbridge so you get an idea of what is the people using, you may as well counterteam popular teams, Ray Rizzo's team in particular, VGC is full of people stealing the sets of popular players so you might as well punish their fuckin ignorance

they had a decent amount - a lot of card sleeves, pokemon center plushes, the pokemon time figures where they look all cute and shit. i got there around noon or so, so i think i missed out on the early pickings. i'm unsure whether the four vendors will restock before tomorrow

Oh man, I'll be pretty disappointed if they don't restock before tomorrow. This seems like a pretty rare chance to get Pokemon Center and Pokemon Time stuff without having to go online. (Haha, so even if my performance isn't so great tomorrow, at least I can get some great souvenirs!)

Wow, I wonder what caused the change...

At least it should be easier to get something to eat at the new location, it was either buying something from the one food vendor or spending ~$30 for admission to the "touristy" portion and food.
