Why are Gen 2 and Gen 3 Pokemon so weak? It can't be power creep because there's a fuckton of strong Gen 1 Pokemon.

The funny thing was I just got done talking with some friends about how shitty all the Gen 1 Pokmeon are in battle outside of like six actually good ones.

Gen 3 is pretty shit too, though.

I can see that with gen 2, but I feel like gen 3 has plenty of powerful pokemon, and they focused heavy on abilities in that generation, a lot of gimmicky mons come from Hoenn

only Psudeos and legends made it OU from gen 3 But gen 3 probably had the biggest impact on the Uber tier with it's legendaries (beside arceus). Weather inducing kyogre with a 100% accurate thunder and a hydro pump unequal in power will always have it's place. Plus blaziken.

Gen 3 was full of fucking gimmicks which is why only Hoennbabbies like it. It's also had the lowest number of OU Pokemon every generation including its inception.
