>>17500168Good: Introduction of double battles, Contests, more varied berries, natures, and abilities. We also get to see the protagonist's father, and there were three rivals who weren't irrationally douchey.
Bad: Teams were a neat idea executed in the worst fucking way possible. The map is okay, but there is way too much water in the back half of the game. The fact that you only encounter like 4 different pokemon while surfing didn't help at all.
Things that were there, but were kinda meh: Secret bases were kinda neat but mostly pointless. Gym leaders and the elite four weren't terrible, but Stephen is the only one who really stands out. Also, the trumpet soundtrack might make or break your experience.
What do I want to see:
More gym leaders with unique battle scenarios, like double, triple, rotation, or new battle format.
Megas for the Hoenn starters and some of the forgotten pokes like Walrein, Camerupt, and Sharpedo.
Balance the map out a bit more with less monotonous surfing towards the end, and more exploration opportunities towards the beginning.
Make the teams more interesting and less moronic. Perhaps have them show good intentions, but terrible means. Given that players sort of already worked with one of the groups in the last game, and we received costumes in X and Y, this could be the game where we can join a team and have the opportunity to work alongside them.
