A friend gave me a perfect pokemon and I'm trying to pass down the IVs with a destiny knot

However all the offsprings don't dont have 5 perfect IVs they only get like one or two

Am I doing something wrong?

You know that the Destiny Knot makes the offspring get 5 random IVs took from BOTH parents, right?
That means that 5 guaranteed IVs come only when you have 6 IVs on both parents.

the correct spread is 5/12 which means he can pick hp from the male and female resulting in 4 iv pokemon or even less, its rare but can happen

Wait what, I think you're misinformed or confused..

HP would be one of the perfect 31s if it was a 6 IV mon so I don't see how it picking HP would lead the pokemon to being 4 IVs

If you have 2 6 IV mons, you are guaranteed 5 IVs

means he can get hp male/hp female/attack/defense/speed/ 2 random iv for sp att and sp defense resulting in 4 iv

You only get a stat from either parents. You won't inherit HP from both male and female, for instance.

Replace the 0IV with the best child
