I come with good and bad news.

Good news is that, since I have the Shiny Charm, I got some new shinies - A Scraggy I levelled to 100, a second Scraggy I accidently killed due to a stylus misclick, a Gulpin that motivated me to start a Horde Hunt, a lucky Plusle that appeared on the first Minun horde last day, and a Minun I got last night. Shiny hunting on hordes with the Charm is rather fast, and I start to like it.

Bad news is that, due to work taking its toll and his 3DS being stolen (with X on it), Golden Geo-Dude decided to stop playing Pokemon for all to concentrate on his work and his newfound social life (to quote his words), and asked me to deliver the message here, considering this series of topics was the last contribution he made to Pokemon. May his contribution to these topics never be forgotten.

I am a relative scrub when it comes to pokemon, and I've been breeding noibats for three? days trying to get some with 5 perfect IVs, I now have a male and female both with Frisk, one modest and one timid... and while wondertrading rejects I got a 4IV japanese noibat, so now I am MMing and hoping for a shiny with 3-5 IVs.

Today I continue my hunt for a shiny 5IV goomy. I got two 6IV goomy after about a month of breeding and now all I have to do is MM till kingdom come. I am only on box 4 of these fellows, so not feeling crazy just yet.

I take breaks by FS shiny hunting...found a second shiny gabite this morning. Overall, things are going well.

You have to first get all the other O-powers from mr bonding, and then you have to max out your style in Lumiose.

This can be easily done by purchasing premier balls one by one at the pokeball place. You can also do stuff like work for the hotel.

Hey, guys, I hate to be "that guy", but there's a reason we agreed to make /shw/ a weekend thing. We didn't want it to become ANOTHER daily general, and while I appreciate that people don't want it to end, it works a LOT better as a weekend thing trust me.

There were some short lived Shiny Threads that cropped up November-ish, and they filtered away because it was a daily thing. I think we all care about /shw/ enough to not want that to happen here, so can we please not make this a daily thing?

Even having a thread up on Monday means that /shw/ would have been up for 4 days straight, which is over half of a week, which isn't much of a weekend.

I'm just saying we should remember that this is a Weekend thing, and "MLK Day" really didn't warrant starting up a new thread.

Basically, you use Substitute to get down to the HP level at which Torrent activates. At the same time, the Petaya Berry is consumed to increase Sp.Atk by one stage. Agility (an egg move btw) is used whilst under Sub to boost your Speed to outspeed others. Then you use moves like Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Grass Knot etc. to mow things down.

A Modest nature will give you a big boost to your attacking power, so choose that over Timid, always. Scraggy is in the Field Egg group, so Smeargle with D-Dance, Ice Punch and Drain Punch are good if you want to run a Bulky Dragon Dancer set. I would run Adamant nature, but if you want Jolly for more Speed or something that'll boost bulk it's fine too. Shed Skin isn't 100% reliable, but it can remove pesky Toxic, Burns or Paralysis that might cripple Scrafty.

Still here, still hatching, I have 7 5IV noibats (hp def spatk spdef spd), one female modest in a great ball, two female timids in dusk balls, the rest timid males in dusk balls. the japanese female I am using is 4IV dropping hp and atk iirc. I was only planning on making a couple good noibats because I wanted a Thief/Frusk for getting stones etc off wild pokemon, but now I kinda want to get an infiltrator for real battle action. The shiny hunt started when trading one reject resulted in recieving that japanese mother.

I wasn't aware shiny charm was even available in XY outside of being banked over, what is the exact requirement to get it? I doubt I can meet it.

I don't know, although the Shiny Charm does apparently stack up with FS rates. The RE shiny rate in XY is supposedly 1/4000, and gets reduced to 1/1365 or something. If FS rates are something like 1/2000 then I guess Shiny Charm reduces it by 300%.

At least with MMing you have to do something. SRing is just mashing the 'A' button, checking the fossils, then reset and mash 'A' again.

I SRed by selling every fossil except for 15 Armor Fossils and had a full party. That way you don't have to select the fossil or be asked if you want to nickname. All of them just go into the box.

errrr, cause its seems a waste to not use a shiny eevee. It doesn't have HA which means it isn't good as an espeon/sylveon/flareon and it doesn't have the right nature to be an umbreon or a leafeon. At least with snow cloak you can still make something decent out of it. Jolteon might not be mad either but I like shiny glaceon

The first few people I talked to after starting on noibat were like BUT NOIBAT IS TERRIBLE.

I think I am less discouraged and it's more that I've been doing this literally all day. Maybe I should go try chaining or something. I am running out of o-power energy shit anyway.

You're wasting a moveslot on something that you're just not really likely to get a chance to use.

Escavalier gets drill run as an egg move now, so I'd recommend going with something like Megahorn/Iron head/Drill run/Pursuit.

I checked, and it can't learn pursuit in gen 6 yet. If you don't have anything else in mind for the 4th moveslot, you could use it, but you definitely shouldn't consider dropping megahorn for it, it's just too weak.
