I bet you could come up with some kind of hilarious gimmick involving Symbiosis in double battles.
Something like X with a Focus Sash and Florges with a Liechi Berry, or maybe double Weakness Policy on a pokemon with Sturdy and Rest, and then have Florges use Aromatherapy.

Flavor and because Gamefreak can't give a Pokemon a BST higher than Arcanine without being a Pseudo, Mega, or Legendary. If you do, you have terrible stat distribution or a shitty ability to "balance" it out.

It's got meh offensive stats and worse defensive stats. They haven't been "great" since Gen 3 and in Gen 3 its movepool was Fire Blast, Extreme Speed, Crunch, Hidden power and Iron Tail.

That really only came later, by then stealth rocks were a thing and Arcanine's speed was considered bad. If he was more min-maxed like today's Pokemon (meaning he could have more in speed and bulk instead of wasted points in Sp.Atk) he might be a go-to fire Pokemon in OU.

That's the problem for Pokemon maybe in RBY really (and to a lesser extent GSC and RSE). They didn't have the benefit of being made after the Physical/Special split.

The only relevant one of those is Megados, but Kyurem-b gets Teravolt which is pretty much the same shit, except it makes some use of it by killing Rotom-w and Mega Venusaur dead.

How does it do that to Rotom? Kyurem doesn't get EQ, unless if you are really using Earth Power which would have the exact same BP as a STAB Outrage.

Ampharos doesn't even get any good Fire/Ice moves

Skarm is the only thing he can even OHKO without Sturdy, Thundurus-Therian is the only thing that doesn't resist electric and Dragon Pulse hits for almost the same damage anyways.

It's a good ability for some Pokemon but completely wasted on Ampharos, they could have given him something like Fur Coat or Regenerator that would have actually made him more useful.

I truly hope it's for a form of Zygarde seeing as right now it's weak to both Xerneas and Yveltal (Fairy beats its Dragon typing and Yveltal's Flying affinity keeps it safe from Ground moves).
