I kind of hope it's just that they don't understand the difference between how rare some Pokemon are.

The posts you're seeing are the leftovers. People snatch up the reasonable trades quickly so all you see is the stupid shit.

Be smart. Put up a mon and ASK for a rattata. You'll have it in minutes

Also I think a lot of them really just dumb enough to think someone will give them a Yveltal for their Rattata

I've also had a Charmander up for a Squirtle and I've had no one grab it yet.

People really are that dumb. There used to be threads about it. You can easily snag a Xerneas or Yveltal off of someone for a popular bankmon on GTS.

Or you could keep refreshing the GTS page for Rattata until some schmuck wants to fill his Pokedex and asks for easy to get stuff he never bothered catching

I actually getting Yveltals for putting some of my leftovers. Im not even lying but getting edgybirds for legit 5-6 iv mons.
A week ago i got 2 Ys for rats leftovers when bank was new and not so many peeps had rats.
PS:
At first day of pokebank i was getting X and Y just for meowths.
The only stupid is in this thread is OP. It takes nothing to get a rat from GTS if you have brains.

Nobody wants a Charmander. Nobody. Trust me. I've had better luck with Bulbasaur and WAY better luck with Squirtle. I get the trades in less than five minutes. Charmander? Went two days straight without a bite. And I wasn't even asking for something exaggerate. It was a simple request wanting to fill the Pokedex.
