>>17532603In short, the formula for calculating a shiny is the same as gen 3-5, except that the instead of shinies being restricted to results of 0-7, it is now 0-15 that will return a shiny. The base chance has doubles, yes.
However, if the Friend Safari has "higher" chances, we won't know because that would involve datamining to see if encounters in the FS have multiple calls for the RNG. In gen 4 and 5, when you breed internationally, the base chance of any given egg isn't changed, the game simply generates multiple PIDs until a shiny comes (up to the set amount for "Masuda Method," as programmed by Masuda.)
Same thing with the shiny Charm, it makes the game generate 4 PIDs in Gen 5 instead of 1 every time a Pokemon is encountered. Each of those PIDs has a 1/8092 chance of being shiny.
Thusly, we don't know how many PIDs are being generated in gen 6 with MM and shiny charm, because that needs to be datamined. All we can do is guess based on gen 5.
