Yeah it's really down to preference, S Sneak is good as it doesn't give as many free subs up, everyone is creaming themselves over knock off, so a switch on a predicted sucker punch into said knock off is gonna hurt

drain punch is illegal on protean kecleon, though - protean is sixth gen only, while drain punch is a tutor move from fifth gen or a tm from fourth.

Maybe replace Shadow Sneak with Iron Head? How about a Flying-type move? Kecleon might be able to use Protean defensively, give it a shot.

Shadow sneak allows it to get priority immunity on two types, why would you get rid of that? Especially if you fake out first turn, they try to get a SE fighting move on you, but nope

Power Up Punch instead of Drain Punch.

Kecleon really suffers from not having Move Tutors. He loses Drain Punch, and Aqua Tail and a punch of other interesting choices. Poor guy.

the one i'm currently using is holding an assult vest, which is pretty neat, though no recover.

though, if anyone has any ideas on how to make this better, or if i'm totally missing something, that would be neat to know.

This is exactly what I'm using, right down to the vest. I feel like his speed is the biggest thing holding him back so I mostly stick to Sucker Punch and Sneak.

i punch when i think i have an opportunity, which isn't too rare considering how well he takes special attacks. rocks make quick work of the charizard Ys and volcanoras i see. i even manage to KO a talonflame once or twice when someone was fool enough to switch and i saw it coming. though, other than that, yeah, it's mostly priority.

though, after a PuP's or two, those shadow sneaks start doing quite a bit.
