Who has the patience to even stand doing the Pokéradar and Masuda Method?
I try but things just never roll my way...in short: "fuck my luck" Chain Fishing and the Friend Safari appear to be more...in my range of luck.

Masuda Method allows for getting an actual usable shiny, instead of a shit one.
Pokeradar is good if you want to get a shiny for collection purposes that you can only find in grass.
Chain fishing is the same, but for water.
I don't understand why people use the friend safari. Was there ever confirmation if it actually increased shiny value? Or are people mistaking spamming O-Powers, Illuminate leads, and a single, large patch of grass with "heightened shiny chances"?

I'm Collecting.
But the only time I've gotten an MM shiny was a MALE Combee with the Nature and IVs I was intending.
I just decided to forget about it and just make a usable Pokemon.

I'm still trying to get a shiny tepig. I dunno if I would ever do this again since it takes way to long and I'de rather work on more teams than anything.

That said it would of been nice to get one of those japanese 6 iv dittos everyone was trading out. That way I could work on teams and always hope for that shiny. So far no luck, but what ya gonna do.

I have a team full of 5V non-instacheck nor cloned shinies thanks to the MM. It usually only takes me about 12 hours to get a decent shiny, but I've heard of people MM-ing for days without even a nibble.

It really does come down to luck. Still, I would never consider getting a Shiny any other way. If I'm going to put forth the effort to get a Shiny, it better be fucking usable.

I've absentmindedly gotten two shinies in the Safari without trying and another one trying to see if it seemed more likely. It isn't by much in the long run but I think it does have better odds in the Safari. I got two in one day by accident and another within the next day.
Though I have also accidentally bred two shinies, and ran into two while beating the story so my player number may be really lucky.
