Precisely, I never thought Iris would be shipping material, but right now they are kind of downplaying Serena's obvious crush a little too much.

Speaking of XY, in the last episode, was Meowth infatuted for real or somehow Attract works through those binoculars?

Probably infatuated for real. It hasn't been the first time since something like that ever happened to Meowth either.

But anyways, as of right now, I'm seeing May, Dawn, and Serena being the ones gunning for Ash's D.

Serena heavily moreso than the others, thanks to her crush being a part of her character, but May and Dawn still fit.

Well, I mean..this isn't a shoji show after all. I'm surprised they've hinted at her feelings for Ash as much as they have to be honest. Even releasing a fucking relationship chart. Little things like her panicking over Ash going out with Premier to her relief that he didn't are nice enough within the realms of the target audience.

I guess? However, it was only heavily featured in AG (May x Drew) and now in XY (Serena being in love with Ash). It was pretty nonexsistant in BW. I don't remember much of anything in DP, aside from the rare times Kenny appeared.

Also, lol props to whoever made a Pt. 2 to my original thread, as a tide over for the anime hyped thread.

Nah, the reason as to why I say the Shoujo Elements came about in DP, was due to Dawn's nature.

Her girlish charm was visible throughout the advertising of DP and whatnot.

AG, while having some elements, was certainly not as prominent as DP was aha.

Although, with May, she did go back and forth between who she wanted to ride imo.

Also, you're welcome. The anime hype threads are usually entertaining.

Maybe XY is going to be his saga? I mean, of course he won't win da league...but maybe he won't do worse and get back to at least Top 8.

I mean, I know these aren't indications of how he'll place but:

>He's back to being fairly competent and somewhat mature
>Serena is in love with him
>Clemont wants to be like him
>Bonnie loves everyone
>There's no antagonistic person in the group for the sake of being an ass (Misty, Iris)
>He has no main rival that is always one step ahead of him

If he wins a league, we can seriously move on to someone new, Like Dawn or May. Whatever the region is after Kalos. Even Serena. Maybe even Brock.

Maybe an entirely new character.

All the elements you've posted up are strikingly similar to AG's formula, and that arc was pretty fantastic with Hoenn and Battle Frontier.

Although, this does mean, his Pokemon might not be able to evolve until much later in the season.

Nah, the Orange League wasn't gimmicky, it was straight up battle, after battle.

Also, for Battle Frontier, Brandon did call him something on the lines of that, and offered him to become a Frontier Brain in Kanto, in which Ash declined.

I do agree that Ash needs a break, but if it wasn't for BW, Ash's development into a fairly competent training would be fun to watch.

I think that's exactly the issue with BW, anon: they didn't know what the hell to do with him during that season after the reset. It was a season that didn't build well upon any kind of strong character foundation.

Well, when the glass is full, you empty it and gradually fill it again. Gives the illusion that the character is actually moving forward, especially to those people who started on Pokemon with BW.

Besides, Iris and Cilan would've looked way more useless if they were hanging around with DP Ash. BW Ash fit them like a glove, I suppose.
