Alternative: Give it a new HA that causes it's use of Magnet Rise to affect your adjacent pokemon during Double/Triple battles, and also causes it to be affected by their use of Magnet Rise. Could be called Mag-Link or something like that.

Give Delphox Moonblast or even Dazzling Gleam.

Give Aurorus Power Gem and redistribute its base stats (-20 HP, -20 Attack, +10 SpA, +30 Speed).

Swap Camerupt's Attack with either its HP or Speed and give it Scald.

Would making Aurorus Electric/Ice help it? It then gets STAB from its Thunderbolt, Thunder, Charge Beam and Discharge, and loses some weaknesses (although has that 4x Ground one still)

Unfortunately, Fossil Pokemon are half-Rock essentially by default. It might make sense if the first stage was Rock/whatever and the second stage was one or two unique types, but that won't be the case.

With all the dinosaurs we've been getting lately, there would be too much of a temptation to make them Dragon/whatever, and we don't need more Dragon-types.
