ooh, i feel ya. he and i have a bit of a gap as well; he started when he was six, with the originals, i started a bit later, with emerald, though leafgreen has more memories and more nostalgia from me - i traded my emerald for it with a friend, don't really regret it. i still prefer kanto as a region to all of the others, though...
hoenn had the best set of pokemon, though, real talk. kalos is a close second.video games... scared me for some irrational reason when i was younger, despite my loving computer games {apparently they were different in my brain?} and it was only after i got my xbox at my eighth birthday that i started to get over it.
ohhh, yes, x/y breeding is a godsend. i breed him a lot of crap and i have about ten or so completed projects [thanks to that six iv ditto i got from wonder trade] in the box - always one for him and one for me, of course. all nicknamed because we both agree that it gives more personality.
