It's that time again. It's been a year and 3 months since the last time this has been done, but I feel another /vp/ creates a pokemon is in order.
>inb4 /vp/ creates a pokedex and pokeaus the big difference is that this is an in-depth creation into one pokemon only.
The rules are simple. At each stage of development, the community decides on different aspects of a pokemon as we come to that particular segment. If a decision isn't reached within a timely period I will simply make the deciding vote, though this has happened maybe once out of all the times I have done this.
Completed projects: Cryomet (super glass cannon ice/rock comet pokemon), Basiliz and it's evolution Korrodo (Dragon/Poison special defense brawler komodo dragon-esque pokemon)
Partially completed: The water/bug concept barely got past initial stages before interest was lost, but fear not! Of the concept images made, one of them was eventually used as inspiration in the/vp/ creates a pokedex, so it lives on regardless.
Pic related is just a calling card I use until I can find better, is not an actual project we have done.
First step: Deciding on either a type then concept, or a concept then type.
http://strawpoll.me/1064624 Types are self explanatory, though I shall give some words on the concepts presented, and yes I know the numbers between types and concepts are uneven.
fruit/vegetable: think cherubi, or even tropius with it's bananas or exeggutor with it's heads like some sort of fruit. Can have a twist to it, like a chili pokemon being grass/fire, just an example I have seen proposed before.
Tool: A pokemon based off a tool, magnemite being obviously based off magnets, or klinklang using gears, etc.
Cosmic/Space: Like solrock/lunatone, cryomet. Something space related.
Should a concept win a typing will be decided later on. Until then, I will have this strawpoll up until tomorrow evening. Will bump or recreate the vote tomorrow should it be gone tomorrow morning and such.

>>17599478 wasn't me, i know somebody had a pastebin for them. I know cryomet had stupidly high offensive stats and high speed, but both his defenses were piss poor. Was designed as an ultimate glass cannon due to him having probably the worst dual type in the game defensively, with at least 2 different X4 weaknesses.
Korrodo I remember less of, but I do remember that special defense was his highest stat. Trying to remember if he was a mixed attacker as well like cryomet.
Poll so far has dragon/grass and cosmic/space barely in the lead. I did not expect either of those to get that high. I remember the last time I mentioned a dragon/grass and it was immediately shot down.

Suggestion for the polls: Rather than polling once and picking the one with the most votes, poll a few times and eliminate one or two of the least popular choices each time and let people vote again. Alternatively, use a site that will let voters rank their choices instead of just voting for one, and at the end you keep eliminating the least popular choice and redistributing the votes until you have a majority

We should start with the basics. Should it be based off of something natural, like an animal, bug, or plant? Or make it mimic a human-made object, like a painting or automobile? Or an idea, like a religious tradition or monster?

Well it's about 10pm the polls are now closed (or at least to me they are) and with 25%~ of the vote it's a clear cut win for ghost/rock. With that being in mind it's time to start giving out concepts for a ghost/rock pokemon. I'll start with one, a grave/tombstone pokemon, possibly a gargoyle of sorts?

I'd go wth a "Ashes to ashes, dust to dust" theme. Maybe based on an hourglass and/or a sundial. This is to be combined with another design idea of course (most Pokémon are combinations liek this anyway). For exampel I could totally see a spider whose body parts form an hourglass or something...
