I did this with substitute instead of protect before it got banned.

Send it in on something that it scares out like ferrothron, and sub when they think I'm going to protect.

I actually used this to try out a 3v3 singles team alongside mega heracross and a physical greninja with expert belt.
It works fine.

Oh, nice. I was thinking that set might be usable if you passed a speed and focus energy to a scope lens mewtwo, so it could outspeed the tier and have boosted attacks without taking recoil. Lugia and giratina would be problems to this but they always have been to blaziken anyways.
